Every day available… because that is how we did it.
The Cincinnati Lacrosse Academy is not a “camp,” we do not run “lessons.” It is a ‘lacrosse school,’ a ‘community.’
The frequency of training allows for the proper ratio of casual fun and serious work. We compare this to studying for weeks in advance or cramming the night before a test. One is very intense and stressful, the other can be intense, but it’s voluntary, and is accompanied by the peace of mind that you are well prepared.
Training ten to twelve weeks over the summer - Players become life long friends, they grow in confidence, everyone learns what it takes to become good at something, and in the end, personally discover how to deal with successes and failures which are always a part of life.
Something you cannot change is the “TIME” required.
If a local player has a dream to play D1 Lacrosse - Every day they will need to drive to the field to train for an hour or two, commute to the weight room, and after find time to invest 30-60 minutes on the wall with some conditioning. The logistics are difficult, potentially driving around town, not to mention the cognitive effort it takes to think of drills that attack weaknesses, and critiquing form to model the highest ideal, while also not wearing yourself down mentally. Almost without a doubt the ‘I’ll do it 3 times a week’ would start to creep in, and next thing you know the dream to be good at lacrosse is out of reach.
This is the genesis of The Cincinnati Lacrosse Academy. Everything in one location. All the players do is WORK. We critique, make the curriculum, and encourage the players daily. Not just that, the players inspire each other. Weekly we will hear “I was so tired this morning, but ___ called me to make sure I was coming.”
The people on the journey make the journey, the struggle becomes about more than just yourself!
Surely I would have compromised with my weakness a day or two if I did not know my friends were heading to the field and expected me there every day of the summer.
We train every day, we put the hours in, but have a lot of fun while doing it! The membership gets you much more than just a ‘training session,’ this is access to one of the best communities in the sport of lacrosse!
That being said, the only prerequisite we ask is a desire to get better. You do not have to shoot 100mph or have perfect stick skills. Just be willing to do the work.
The players only benefit by being surrounded by more people who want to be great. This is why player “scholarships” exist. If your son or daughter wants to genuinely be great at lacrosse, we do not want price to be a barrier to entry. Other players will benefit from having them there! Not just that, we acknowledge the brevity of a ‘career,’ and do not take for granted the ability to be a part of any player's success. It only happens once, we will do everything we can to make it special.
Therefore, as a family, whatever makes the summer (May - Mid August) possible, and even the full training year (May - February) possible, we want to support it.
Attached to the email (Sent to those registered) is the scholarship form, or text 513-444-5199 if unable to view. The use of a scholarship is on the honor system, our parents had twins, so we are sympathetic to any family and want to do what we can to support that.
Last summer we began with a little over 35 memberships - this year over 130 people have filled out the interest form. Harrison and I have a number that will likely be the cap for positions and age groups - please register when you are able to ensure a spot to start the summer. When registering you can ‘select date’ which looks like May 26th will be the first official week.
ALL IN (Groups for all Ages and Positions)
Youth: 9:00-11:45/12:00 (Positional Lacrosse work, Running & Foundational Strength)

The schedule will be set as soon as possible - the time block will be in the morning. 9:00 AM start time to let players get plenty of rest, end time may be adjusted by 15 or so minutes.
Persevere,
Henry Schertzigner
