Massive things have small starts.
Regardless of my obvious bias, the academy environment is inspiring to witness and exciting to be a part of. After the Youth / MS session on Sunday our older players took the field to warm up - it was a perfect time to explain to the younger group “You are right where you need to be… trust the process of progress.. All of you are starting before, and most likely ahead of those players you see over there… no dream is out of your reach.”
This statement is not in regards to the age they picked up sticks, but relative to the age they decided to train, intentionally give the sport more, go for something that is far beyond average.
When the CLA really began 3-4 years ago we were trying to inspire a dream that was almost intangible to players locally. Meaning, being GREAT. To understand what that took. It was up to a small group to make the sacrifice and really go for it… and thankfully that is what happened.
They are now some of the best players in the country.
What started as a very small group, training every day of the summer, continuing through the Fall Monday - Friday after school, and then battling all the way through the winter until the start of the spring in February, is now this powerful community. (36-38 weeks)
Powerful in a sense, the next generation just needs to step into the system and trust the process.
There really is no “uncertainty,” and certainly nothing intangible about it. This next generation can see what the best looks like, how hard they work, the seriousness in which they take the pursuit, but also, the joy and love they have for the journey. Our community is making memories that will last a lifetime, and receiving formation that will impact far beyond the field.
That being said, the best parts of the journey can’t be taken away regardless of all the leaders, examples, and extra resources we have now. The sacrifice, struggle, heart ache, joy, passion, and triumph is all still there.. The main variable now is, will you go ALL IN?
A lot of gratitude for those who have been with us and continue to blaze the trail! The best is ahead.

Some of the qualities of a players from this community.
Not that you never fail, but you get up every time.
Show up with intention, not just for attendance.
A player who wants to be coached.
One who is curious, both about their limits, their potential, and what happens when they push past both.
Takes pride in the details, how they prepare, how they recover, how they speak to themselves after setbacks.
Individuals who are driven and not discouraged by discomfort.
Players who know that the value of this journey is who they become in the process
We want the ones who understand that this is more than training—it’s formation.
When you give yourself fully to something difficult, something meaningful, you don’t just change your game. You change your life.
These are a few ideals, and something we are hopefully pushing everyone towards. The result will be great lacrosse players.

Seeing the success so far this spring is exciting. We look forward to the coming months and all the work that is ahead.

This is the beginning of the invitation and our clear excitement for the next generation. If you have a youth player locally, regardless of talent, the Cincinnati Lacrosse Academy will be for them. This summer is a perfect opportunity to join and be a part of it.
